The Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff provide treatment, care and support to all those affected by cancer.
Charman, Adam Butcher, said: “We were all saddened by the loss of one of our founding members, Russ Currie, last year to Prostate Cancer so we got together to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK and to the Velindre Hospital that provided treatment and care to Russ.”
The charity ball was held at the Mounton Brook Lodge in Chepstow and guests were entertained on arrival by pianist Richard Harris and after dinner by in-house group, The PratPack. A raffle and auction on the evening raised nearly £2,000 through the generosity of those attending.
By the end of the event, over £5,000 had been raised for Velindre through sponsorship and other activities. Organiser Stuart Dent, said, “The generosity of businesses and everyone involved has been amazing, and we have exceeded all our expectations.”
“A big thank you must go to the team at Mounton Brook Lodge and our main Diamond sponsors, inside out development and C and I Controls.”
Incoming Chairman, Gareth Jones, added, “Being able to give something back help those in need is very important to the Chepstow and District 41 club and the wider round table community.
