A CALDICOT care home shared the love on Valentine’s Day by giving out roses to all its residents.
The 40 wooden roses were distributed by the care team to residents at Cherry Tree Care Home as an acknowledgement of how much they mean to them this Valentine’s Day.
Lifestyle leader at Cherry Tree, Helen Harries, said: “We had great fun presenting our residents with roses. It was nice to remind them that even though they have a loving family that we are their family too and are there for them.
“We think our residents really appreciated the gesture and the roses will make a really nice keep sake and reminder of the activity.”
Resident Sandy Sanders, said: “It was such a lovely gesture to receive a rose, I am going to give mine to my daughter to show my love for her.”
Avnish Goyal, managing director of Hallmark Care Homes, which owns Cherry Tree and initiated the idea, said: “The aim of this activity is to make our residents feel special this Valentine’s Day, and let them know we are there for them as we care for them, and value our relationship with them as our greatest asset.
“Many of our residents haven’t received a rose in years, while others have never received a rose in their lifetime. We hope giving them a rose this Valentine’s weekend will bring a smile to their face and show them how much we care.”
