Over 50s in Chepstow are being offered the chance to join a new forum.
Anyone interested in improving the well-being of themselves, their neighbourhood and town is invited to the Palmer Community Centre (Senior Citizens) on Thursday 10th March between 10am and 12pm.
Chepstow resident Bill Thorne said: "Since 2007 I have been a member of Action 50+ Monmouth and have found the benefits of like-minded people working together."
"We have members who belong to The National Pensioners Convention, The Community Health Council, GAVO, Age Cymru, Monnow Vale Hospital Committee and Grass Routes Transport.
"We are also trying, with the help of Monmouth Town Council, to set up a mobility scheme within the town.
"This is just an example of our involvement for the community and in Chepstow we can be similarly involved.
"It does not have to be business all the time, there can be social outings and guest speakers can be invited. It is up to you to decide.
"Obviously, we have to start from somewhere and to this end I would like to invite you and your neighbours to the 'friendly get-together' on 10th March at the Palmer Community Centre."
Refreshments will be provided.
