AROUND 60 people attended a vigil at Caldicot memorial cross on Friday (2nd June) in memory of the recent terrorist attacks in Manchester and London.

Caldicot Town Team along with local residents Christine Rees, Allison Drake-Griffiths, Jo Stevens and Sharon Tovey wanted to arrange a meeting to pay respects.

Local singer Zoe Walters and saxophonist Olivia Brewin both performed at the vigil.

A short service took place, followed by the laying of flowers and the lighting of candles as a sign of respect.

Organiser Christine Rees said: “Although we are just a small town, we felt it was important for us to pay our respects to show Manchester and the terrorists that we will not be afraid.”

The vigil raised £237 for the Manchester Evening News fund, which will go towards helping those affected by the attacks.
