SEDBURY Post Office could move to a new location with extended opening hours.
The proposed new location for the branch is Spar on Beachley Road, Sedbury, 78 metres away from the current Sedbury Post Office.
The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move as part of a six-week public
consultation.
Should the move go ahead, the branch will open from 7am to 11pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7am to 11.30pm on Wednesday and 8am to 10.30pm on Sunday. This would offer an extra 59 hours of Post Office service every week.
The proposed move, in agreement with the current postmaster, is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.
Will Russell, regional manager of the Post Office, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Chepstow and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
During the public consultation, Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal. The consultation will close on Wednesday 9th September 2015.
Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to [email protected], via the customer helpline on 03457 22 33 44 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
