One of Monmouth’s newer businesses is moving closer to the town centre only months after opening.

Quench, which serves coffee, iced drinks, deserts, cakes, and ice cream, has moved to number 11 St Thomas Square on the Monnow Bridge - the spot of another previous drinks cafe Chia Me Up.Cafe owner Kate told the Beacon that the business hopes to enjoy an increased footfall, being on the bridge as well as a larger indoor capacity which can be used for socially distanced seating.Despite both being beverage shops, there’s no connection between Quench moving in and Chia Me Up moving away.Quench is home to a local brand of coffee known as Monnow Coffee, roasted just outside of Cardiff.Their new hours are 8am-5pm Tuesday to Friday, and 9am-5pm Saturday, and it is closed Sunday and Monday.
