MONMOUTHSHIRE’S Apple County Cider Co have won the Great Taste Golden Fork award for best food and drink from Wales. Their Vilberie Medium Dry Cider was one of 10,000 products entered into the Great Taste 2015, and emerged in the Top 50 Foods list with 3-stars, before being nominated for the regional Golden Fork. The cider faced stiff opposition from Gower View Foods Ltd’s Shirgar Welsh Salted Butter, and Coles Family Brewery’s Honey Marmalade, but emerged with the Golden Fork and were declared the ‘best tasting product’ in Wales.

Stephanie Culpin of Apple County Cider Co said:

“Winning the Golden Fork is absolutely fantastic, this year was the first time we entered the Great Taste, and there was such a range of competition. The Welsh Government, who sponsored the Golden Fork from Wales, have given us a lot of support and mentoring with the product. This is great for Wales, great for Monmouthshire, and great for cider as a whole!”

Congratulate Apple County Cider Co later this month at their stall in Abergavenny Food Festival.
