SIR,

It's about 5.00pm, and I've just passed 2 buses coming in the opposite direction within five minutes of each other on a quiet Sunday afternoon on the Old Road between Monmouth and Raglan.

The first was doing at least 60mph on the wrong side of the road overtaking a parked car just before a bend. I had to swerve into the side, braking sharply to avoid a clean head-on.

It was going so fast I didn't even get to the see the number, but it was definitely one of the blue service buses used on this route.

Then, five minutes later another bus came hurtling along, again doing at least 60-65mph. This time I got the number, but it was only a fleeting glance, as again, it was gone within a split second.

How long I wonder will it be before there is an extremely serious accident on this road with these maniacs driving behind the wheels of these buses? And how long before these reckless idiots are brought to task by the authorities for endangering people's lives?

Either get some new sensible drivers, or put a 40mph governor on the engines of these vehicles before we end up carting people off in bodybags.
