MONMOUTH has suffered a spate of burglaries over the past couple of weeks with several businesses and homes being targeted. Flowers by Victoria, opened only a couple of months ago, was broken into yesterday (22nd April), with money stolen from the shop. Timpsons, Monmouth was broken into on Friday 11th April with money also stolen from the shop. Alcohol was stolen from the Spar, Monmouth on Monday (21st April). There were also reports of a window smashed at Suits U, Monnow Street sometime overnight on Thursday 17th April to Friday 18th April, but no entry was gained. A burglary also took place at Mitchel Troy last Friday (18th April). A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We were called at approximately 12.40am on Friday 18th April to reports of a burglary at a property on Parc Pentre, Mitchel Troy. "A silver Mercedes was stolen along with items including an Apple iMac and a Panasonic digital camera. "Officers are investigating, anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 16 18/04/14."
