A Monmouth community centre is finding innovative and fun ways to cut its carbon footprint.

As one of three community centres competing in the Welsh Assembly Government's Climate Change Challenge, Bridges Community Centre has been helping older people plug into eco-friendly thinking.

The COMIC (Citizens of Monmouth Interest Centre) Group has found an easy way to turn off switches and stop wasting money thanks to an eco-friendly plug.

The Bridges Youth Committee presented the benefits of the LIME energy saving plug to the elderly group at the Drybridge Park centre last week.

The plugs are available free to anyone over the age of 70 or on a qualifying benefit, thanks to the Welsh Assembly Government.
