DONATIONS have been made to Bridges Community Centre to support the recovery process after the flooding last November.

A local exercise group has donated £355 to Bridges Centre, helping the charity continue supporting people across Monmouthshire while Drybridge House recovers from last year’s flood.

The donation came from members of the Flexercise group, who had originally paid deposits for their Christmas lunches at Bridges Centre. When the lunches were unable to go ahead, the group asked Bridges to keep the deposits.

Members then decided to contribute the difference between their deposits and the full cost of their meals, bringing their final donation to £355.

Ben Ford, Evens and Marketing Manager at Bridges Centre, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Flexercise for this generous donation. It is a wonderful example of people coming together, staying active, enjoying one another’s company and choosing to support their local community at the same time.

“Behind every cheque is a group of people who have decided to do something positive, and donations like this make a genuine difference to our work.”

These include befriending, social groups, community transport, volunteering opportunities and support for children, young people, families and adults with additional needs.
