The body of a man has been found during a search for a missing person from Milkwall since early March.
Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) search managers have been working closely with Gloucestershire Constabulary, and conducted a series of searches on Tuesday last week and then again on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
These have included searches of areas of both water and woodland, involving land search teams from SARA Stations at Beachley, Tewkesbury and Cotswolds, supplemented by colleagues from Gloucestershire Cave Rescue Group, and water search & boat teams from Beachley, Sharpness and Upton.
Yesterday (Sunday) was the 10th day on which they have conduced searches. During the afternoon, a boat team found a body during a search of the River Wye.
A spokesman for SARA said: “This has been a protracted search, and we are grateful to all of the volunteers who have contributed to the operation and to their families.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man concerned.”
