Madam I was interested to read the letter 'Memories of Sellack Hall' as I helped to built it and I think I am the last surviving member of the team that built it. It was built by J Robbins and Sons, Weston-under- Penyard and was built of bricks that were salvaged from the demolition of Kynaston House. The footings were dug by hand and the concrete was broken brick (also from Kynaston) sand, cement and lime all mixed on site. The mortar was lime, sand and cement. The tiles were also from Kynaston and it was a diminishing roof which meant every tile had to be numbered. The haulage carried out by F Barker with his ton ford and going up the wood was quite a test for the old Ferry. Plastering was done by the Bullock family of Ross. RA Cole, Lea
