Eira and Harry Steggles have both worked tirelessly in the county promoting and publishing leaflets for the walking routes in the county, helping to keep them open.
Monmouthshire Walkers showed their appreciation and thanks, by arranging for the bench to be placed overlooking the Wye and want to thank Monmouthshire County Council and the Two Rivers Meadow team for fixing the bench and John Blake for taking the bench there free of charge.
Thanking the group for their efforts, Harry Steggles said he and his wife were honoured that the ramblers should install a seat in appreciation of the work they have done as countryside volunteers, “but we mustn’t forget the others that have given their time,” he added.
“Thanks to all those who have made this installation possible and thanks for coming to take part in the ceremony here today,” he said.
