FOLLOWING the resignation of Nick Oxford as manager of Monmouth Town Reserves, Phill Jeffs returned to take over for the remaining 15 games of the season, and got off to a great start.

Town won 5-2 away at Newport and then managed an even more convincing 5-1 win in their home game against Cwmbran Town, coming away with three points thanks to goals from Denbicki, Lewis, Bowen and two from Ford.

Jeffs said: "It's been a great start for me, but it's always easy taking over a side that was playing well before I took over, and it's all down to the  hard work Ox has put in over the last year with this team.

"The club might have it's problems internally at the moment, but on the pitch we are still performing well and there will always be a spare seat in the dug out for Ox if he wants it."

This weekend Town Reserves are home to Ely Rangers, kick off 2.30pm.
