Young people who attend the Attik youth club have been fundraising throughout the summer to send 20 of their members to Paris for a cultural holiday at the end of October.
The holiday is intended as a reward for those youngsters who regularly attend the Attik Youth Club, who are actively involved with charity or community work and who may not be able to afford to go away otherwise.
Families are often not able to take a holiday every year so offering an accompanied break within a safe and fun environment at a subsidised rate helps children get the holiday they deserve.
"We have had a hard time so far raising money because a lot of our ideas relied on good weather." said one of the boys who was rowing for Paris outside shire hall on his rowing machine.
The youngsters are keeping at it though and hope to have raised the necessary £7500 in the next couple of months.
If you would like to help them make up for their bad luck with the weather please call into the Attik, which is open every evening except Thursday on Commerce House, Monnow Street, Monmouth.
The Abseil event is open to everyone over the age of nine. If you would like to abseil down St. Mary's Church just turn up at the church with your sponsorship money on the 13th October between 9am and 5pm.
