A COUPLE who run an online antiques business have provided thrones for TV royalty - Ant and Dec at their I’m A Celebrity Welsh castle.
Sue and Mark Jordan of Caldicot Antiques were only too happy to supply two thrones, a bureau and 12 chairs for the Game of Thrones-style set, which has seen screen kings Ant and Dec rule the roost from their stunning stately seats.
The call for the regal furniture came out of the blue for the couple, with an order firstly for 12 chairs.
That then led to ‘do you have any throne chairs?’ which got them wondering whether they were for ‘the Castle’.
Sure enough, the caller admitted she was working for ITV and after finding a pair the couple were asked to reupholster the thrones in red.
Sue and Mark couldn’t resist trying the thrones for size before delivering them, dressing up in royal robes for the occasion, and have been sent a photo of Ant and Dec sat on them.
The chairs were first seen when the campmates first arrived at the castle, while the thrones appeared on TV for the first appearance of camp newcomers Russell Watson and Ruthie Henshall, with the couple and their friends since tuning in more often to try and catch a glimpse of their furniture.
Sue is backing Radio 1 DJ Jordan North to win the crown and throne this year in wet and windy North Wales - where the show is being filmed 12,000 miles away from its more usual tropical setting of northern Australia.
