THE Wye Valley Art Society’s place in Monmouth was further cemented on Wednesday, 1st October when it unveiled a blue plaque on Glendower Street.
The plaque commemorates the 110 years the society has spent as the centre of culture in Monmouth and marks where the first meeting of the society was held.
The plaque records how for many years the society has provided a focus for drama, music crafts as well as art in Monmouth.
The plaque was unveiled by Monmouth Mayor, councillor Felicity Cotton and attended by the High Sheriff of Gwent, Kevin Thomas and various other luminaries from the Monmouth scene.
