The Probus Club is a group of retired or semi-retired professional or businessmen who meet at the Conservative Club every Monday, with meetings starting at 10.15am.

About every two weeks a talk is given either by an external speaker or by a member.

Recently Dr Dick McPherson, an external speaker, gave an update on the progress Monmouth Aid has made helping villages in Ethiopia to build schools and water supplies; Monmouth Aid being one of the charities Probus supports.

On 10th October, member George Davies talked about his wartime experiences, minesweeping on converted fishing trawlers.

On Monday 7th November Dr Dick Van Steenis is due to talk about 'The Truth about Public Health'.

Any retired or semi-retired professional or businessmen who might be interested would be very welcome to come along to see if they would be interested in joining Probus.
