SIR,

Can I ask you to draw public attention to a road safety issue which the police appear to ignore?

At the junction of Chippenhamgate Street and Glendower Street, right outside the police station, vehicles are regularly parked on the double yellow lines.

Since this is also a blind corner and the vehicles are within 10 metres of a road junction, the drivers are breaking the Highway Code in three different ways.

Road users who attempt to overtake these parked vehicles are at risk of a head-on collision.

Complaints to the police appear to have no effect, indeed it is police delivery vehicles that are part of the problem.

Who can respect a police force which apparently cannot keep order on its own doorstep?
