A repeat of the damage to the Sportsground has taken place with tyre marks again appearing on the grass pitch overnight.
It was only two weeks ago that the Beacon reported on the damage caused by a hatchback car to the rugby pitch on the eve of the Ted Senior fundraiser.
Now further damage to the pitch, which has now been handed over to the cricket club for their outfield, was made overnight Sunday May 2.
Again CCTV is being scrutinised to see if it is possible to identify the culprits. The small hatchback type vehicle, similar to the one caught on camera two weeks ago, can be seen entering the Sportsground at 3.06am Monday morning and leaving over Monnow Bridge about 3.10am, four minutes later.
A clearer image of the vehicle could be seen and this information has been handed over to Gwent Police.

Byron Hapgood, President of the Monmouth Rugby Club said that it is quite likely that this most recent damage was done “by the same idiots who caused considerable damage some weeks ago.
“There has to be greater effort by the police to find those responsible. I would have hoped the police would have access to several CCTV circuits throughout the town which could show those responsible. The time the damage was done can be seen on Sports Ground cameras- the identification of the exact car or cars could be picked up on other circuits.
“This is particularly sad for the cricket club who are just due to start their season,” he added.
The cricket club declined to comment while a police investigation is ongoing
