Residents of a Monmouth street say a planning application passed by county council last month is 'inappropriate'.
But it is not the development of 20 apartments that people are objecting to, rather the issue of vehicle access through The Burgage.
Those living in the cul-de-sac say they welcome the development of the old Dixton Road clinic, which has stood empty for more than six years, but believe access to the site should be straight from the New Dixton Road.
Residents and town councillors gathered on Monday (31st October) to demonstrate against the proposals. They have joined together to write to AM John Griffiths, the Welsh Government's Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development.
They want him to investigate Monmouthshire County Council's (MCC) planning committee's decision, describing it as "inappropriate".
Plans for a development of 24 flats on the former clinic site were first submitted by the developer in 2007, followed by an appeal in 2009 against the non-determination of the application.
