Close to 500 Monmouth children and their parents turned out on Saturday afternoon on 16th September at the Blake Theatre to hear the TV science star, Dr Emily Grossman, talk about her whizzy fun facts and to watch live, mind-boggling experiments.
The interactive session had huge audience participation and many stayed after to get their copy of her latest books signed. This was the first event of the ACE Monmouth Festival, which kicks off in full this weekend (23/24 September). Dr Emily talked about the big fluffy blanket of carbon dioxide keeping our planet a bit too toasty and the sorts of things the children and their families could do to help. Indeed, this is what the ACE festival is all about – sharing ideas, hope and inspiration. Huge thanks must go to the Blake Theatre and staff for their support and enabling the Dr Emily event to be FREE to the children of Monmouth. If your children or grandchildren are fans but missed the event, ACE has 20 signed copies of each of Dr Emily’s books available to purchase from the Savoy Theatre on Saturday and Sunday during the ACE festival weekend so bring your pennies!”
