Rosemary Rigby, MBE, the founder and owner of a small country museum dedicated to one of the heroines of WW2 has put out a plea for volunteers to help spring clean the site.
The museum at Wormelow in Herefordshire is dedicated to Violette Szabo, a British secret agent who was captured by the Germans and was executed in a concentration camp in 1945 at the age of 23.
Each year Rosemary holds a remembrance service to the memory of Violette and her fallen comrades, but she is finding it difficult to tidy the garden following an illness in January.
"Everyone's talents would be welcome" she said, "I just need a bit of help, whether it's a day or two or just a few hours."
"The paths need tidying up and the rose garden dedicated to Violette needs hoeing."
This year's service will be held on the 29th of June at 2pm and Rosemary hopes to have a Royal Artillery gun firing a salute in honour of the women of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) who died for their country.
The museum is open each Wednesday from April until the end of October, between 11.30am - 1pm and 2.30pm - 4pm.
Ring Rosemary on 01981 540477 with offers of assistance. For more information on the museum and the life story of Violette Szabo go to http://www.violetteszabomuseum.org.uk">www.violetteszabomuseum.org.uk
