MADAM, There must be tots of old fogies like me who can remember the song 'Love in Bloom'. They can probably recall some of the words and the tune. Perhaps we could turn it into 'Ross in Bloom' - something like this:-
If you have a breeze that fills the trees with so much lovely perfume, You know that everyone sees It's Ross in Bloom.
If you cast your dreams in floral schemes To sweep away the sad gloom, Nothing can better the gleams Of Ross in Bloom.
Don't think of the showers, Just picture the scene, That plantings of flowers Bring hours Of sweet fulfilment.
Have you never seen how fingers green Can the roads and their pavements groom, Crowning the town as a queen, This Ross in Bloom.
Mr C Mantle, Chaseside, Ross
