MONMOUTH Town Councillors on Monday evening said an official farewell to their Town Clerk, Sarah Robson.
Sarah has been Town Clerk for five years and is leaving to take up a new post in Chard.
The Mayor, Counc Ann Were, referred to the Clerk's work over the last five years and commented "You have become almost indispensable".
Sarah Robson said she had spent five wonderful years with the Town Council.
"This has been the highlight of my life - we have all worked well together as a team."
The Mayor presented Sarah with a Silver Monnow Bridge Badge, from the Council, while the Deputy Mayor, Counc Jeana Hall, presented her with a water colour painting of Venice, on behalf of the wider community in the town.
In return, Sarah presented the Mayor with an engraved gavel.
Sarah will take up her new post at the beginning of the new year. The Town Council is at present advertising for her successor.
