THE Easter Bunny has competition, from an Undy mum on a mission to make sure no one misses out on a chocolate egg this year.
42-year-old Vicky Davies is collecting eggs to donate to Caldicot Food Bank, and has already racked up 70 assorted treats.
She said: "I wanted to do something for charity, and was inspired by my friend who is also supporting her food bank. I contacted them and asked if I could collect on their behalf and they were really keen.
"I only launched the campaign on Facebook last week but I had a great reception. I thought, if I can collect 20, that would really help, but then I got a phone call from Chepstow Barbers, who donated 27! Now I've got more than 70 and I've still got lots to collect."
Caldicot Food Bank has been running for almost one year, and helps provide food weekly for hundreds of people in need in the area.
Vicky has set up three drop-off sites around Magor and Undy, for people willing to donate to the collection. Eggs can be left at the Golden Lion pub in Magor, at the Flower Shed on Vinegar Hill, Undy, and at Be-Glitz Hair and Beauty in Magor.
The collection will end on 20th March to give the food bank time to distribute the eggs.
