Cross Ash Fun Day was blessed with the sun again this year as the annual event has now become a fixture in the north Monmouthshire calendar.

Starting with a fun run, events included a dog show, village produce competition as well as side shows, a tug of war, and the now statutory water slide.

There was something for all the family as organisers pulled out all the stops to make this a well-organised and entertaining day out.

Chloe Bayliss, pictured below was crowned Miss Cross Ash, and Kirsty Parry won the Best in Show with her dog Markus.

Results in the produce were: Mr & Mrs G Matthews Cup, Dennis Walker Cup., Challenge Cup for Veg won by Dennis Walker, Jean Walker won the Mike Watkins Challenge Cup, the Mr and Mrs G Isaac Cup for wildflowers was won by Julie Rusling.

The Keith Hockey Cup for baking was won by Shirley Oliver. Whitecastle Vineyard Shield - Sandy Finn; Needlework Cup - Annie O’Reily; Tony Phillips Cup for photography - Stuart Lovejoy; Mr and Mrs G Isaac Cup for floral art - Margaret Sammons.

Childrens cups: Under 5 - Ella Whistance who also won the tallest sunflower; 6-9 - Zach Richards; 10-16 -  Chloe Bayliss.

Alun Griffiths Cup for tallest thistle - Georgia Bayliss; George Sevenoaks Cup - Mandy Phillips who also won the fruit cup; Sports Cup (fun run) - Jim Lovejoy.
