AN INVESTIGATION will begin today after more than 30 firefighters tackled a fire at Monmouth School last night (20th September).

The fire, which took place on the first floor of the science block, took place at around 7pm. The fire service were called soon after and crews put the fire out quickly and without incident.

There were no injuries, and the building was empty at the time.

A statement from the school said: “The school is working on an alternative timetable to ensure any disruptions to science lessons are kept to an absolute minimum. Pupils, parents and staff will be kept fully updated.”
