FIVE Albanian nationals arrested in Monmouth on Tuesday are set to be removed from the United Kingdom.

Immigration enforcement officers from the Home Office joined Monmouth police officers on a visit to a residential address in Monmouth yesterday (20th February) as part of a joint enforcement operation.

There, officers arrested four men aged between 22 and 24 and a 21-year-old woman.

All five were Albanian nationals and all were illegal entrants to the United Kingdom.

They were moved into immigration detention while steps are taken to remove them from the United Kingdom.

PC Jenny Morgan from Gwent Police said: “Today (Tuesday 20th February 2018), four men and one woman, all in their twenties who were illegally in the UK were arrested by Border Agency Staff in a joint operation with Monmouth police officers, following recent local intelligence.”
