POLICE were called in Monmouth after a fight broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Officers were called to a disturbance at the Kings Head Pub (Wetherspoons) at approximately 1.00am on 27th December.

One man was treated in hospital for his injuries, including a suspected broken leg and possible cuts to the head.

One 22 year old man from Monmouth was arrested on suspicion on carrying out a section 18 assault (grievous bodily harm). He has now been bailed, pending further investigation. The bail date has been set as 17th February.

A 52 year old woman, also from Monmouth, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. She has received a police caution.
