AN eighty-two-year-old man has died after a collision on the A48 near Caerwent yesterday (12th October) afternoon.

The incident occurred at 4.16pm on the A48 between Caerlicken Lane in Langstone and Llanvair Road in Caerwent, and involved the 82-year-old driver of the car and a van.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Specially trained officers from Gwent Police are supporting the family of the deceased male at this difficult time.
