A CHEPSTOW man has been arrested in connection with two armed robberies from betting shops.

An appeal for information was issued by Gwent Police earlier this month after two armed robberies, one in Betfred in Newport and the other in William Hill in Caerleon.

On Wednesday (20th July) a 43-year-old man from the Chepstow area was arrested in connection with these offences.

Yesterday (21st July) he was charged with two counts robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and has been remanded in custody.
