POLICE are investigating two further burglaries in the Monmouth area.
It is believed they took place on the evening of Wednesday 30th September.
The Beacon reported previously that four homes were also broken into last Tuesday and Wednesday (22nd and 23rd September).
The first burglary happened in New Dixton Road, where entry was gained through smashing one of the rear windows. If you have any information about this, call 101 quoting log number 541 30/09/15.
The second burglary took place in High Field Road, where the rear door was damaged. Another resident in the same street also reported that their security light had been damaged. If you have any information about this incident, call 101 quoting log number 67 1/10/15.
Police have advised residents to be vigilant. If you see anything you consider to be suspicious, particularly people or cars loitering, call 101. If you can provide a description of any vehicles such as the colour, make, model and registration number, or the clothing of anyone unusual, this will help police in their enquiries.
Police are urging residents to lock their doors, take the keys out of the lock and store them out of sight. Officers are encouraging residents to close blinds or curtains during the evenings when they have the lights on. If you are going away, ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on the house, even asking them to park their car on your drive.
Don’t forget to cancel any deliveries, like milk or papers while you’re away.
