AN eighty-one-year-old man has died after a collision on the A48 near Caerwent last Thursday (12th October) afternoon.

The incident occurred at 4.16pm on the A48 between Caerlicken Lane in Langstone and Llanvair Road in Caerwent, and involved the 81-year-old driver of the car and a van.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, and has been named as Brian Creigh.

Specially trained officers from Gwent Police are supporting the family of Mr Creigh at this difficult time.
