MADAM, The Management Committee of the Monmouth Youth Literary Festival would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the people of Monmouth and the surrounding areas for their support during last week's festival. The event reached over 1,000 students, either through the individual workshops with authors like Sam Hay, Rhian Edwards and Daniel Morden, or through larger performances like Twelfth Night in Monmouth Comprehensive School's Marquee. The purpose of the Youth Literary Festival is to celebrate and recognise the talents of our young people and to inspire them to explore Literature and the Arts. We want the Youth Literary Festival to grow from year to year and for this to happen we need your help. We are already reflecting on last week's festival and planning for next year. You can join us in making this event a success next year by joining our twitter feed on @monmouthlitfest. An old African proverb goes: "It takes a community to raise a child." Our literary festival, thanks to your support is a fine example of this maxim.
