Ross Hockey Club 3 Cardiff and Met 1

ROSS 1st XI opened their season with a win against Cardiff and Met D.

The first half typified a first game of the season in the late summer sunshine, with match fitness and good basic skills lacking at times. Ross created the better chances but were unable to convert any of them. The first half ended 0 - 0.

In the second half Ross became more clinical in front of goal, scoring 3 goals. Goal scorers were Euan Aitkin, Phil Evans and Ashley Williams, with Evans’ goal being an early contender for goal of the season.

Cardiff pulled a goal back from a short corner but Ross eventually ran out 3-1 winners.

The South Hereford motorcarvan centre man of the match was Ben Green who made a solid start to his Ross Hockey Club career.

Ross train on Monday evenings at Monmouth Leisure Centre, with juniors training from 7pm to 8pm and adults from 8pm to 9pm.
