LEADERS Underwood B beat Caldicot Town 5-1 in a match which player-manager Craig Johnson admitted was probably their worst performance of the season.

"I'm just glad we managed to come away with the win," he said after goals from Mathew Jackson (two), Taylor Gregory, Kieron Gettings and Rob Williams secured the points.

Second-placed Chepstow Town B kept the pressure on with a 6-2 win at Portskewett & Sudbrook thanks to a Chris Brown hat-trick, Paul Light (two) and Dean Barnett.

Severn Bridge stay in third place thanks to a 3-2 win over Castle B, Dan Giles, Chris Hooper and Steven Jones scoring.

Severn Tunnel B edged out Mathern B 4-3 at Shirenewton.

After Hywel Pugh put the home side ahead, hotshot David Scanlon scored a hat-trick to give Tunnel a 3-1 lead.

Jack Stewart and Sam Greening brought the scores level before a long-range rocket by Dan Williams won the game in what Tunnel boss John Abram described as a really poor display.

In the other match played, Tintern Abbey B beat Sudbrook CC B 6-1.
