Monmouth Town's U12 and U14 junior teams now top their respective tables after last weekend's fixtures.

The town's U12s sponsored by Paws Pet Shop and The Elms Veterinary Surgery, have been on top since the first game of the season. They played a depleted Usk team who were up against it when Tommy Tynan scored after five minutes. To their credit, Usk continued to battle away and it was not until the end of the first half that Sam Swingwood scored again to double the town's lead at half time. As Usk tired the Monmouth team enjoyed plenty of possession and further goals from Hywel Williams, a hat trick from Reuben Sutton, another goal for Sam Swingwood and Will Tynan finished the scoring for a comfortable 8-1 win.

Monmouth Albion's team also in the U12s league eased to an impressive 15-2 away win against Thornwell, this victory moves them up to 3rd in the table.

The football club's U14s also enjoy the top spot in their league after an emphatic 18-2 home victory verses Undy Athletic. Goals were scored by Jordan Suttle (3) George Antony (2). Greg Powell (3) Sean Swann Mcbride (6) and Kyron Smith (4).

Monmouth U16s could not overcome Undy in their age group going down 7-3. However, Monmouth's U18s put a couple of disappointing performances behind them by beating Pontyminster in the Gwent County League. This was an excellent 9-1 win against the previously unbeaten league leaders, goals came from Tom Berry (4) Luke Tay Lodge (2) Callum Wheatly (2) and Alex Cleaves.
