IN the first Welsh Grading Competition of the year in Cardiff, Monmouth Trampoline Club came home with six individual gold, one team gold and two synchronised gold medals.

The outstanding performances of the day came from Emily Bevan, who won the Under 13 NDP4 section with a score of 46.6 which qualifies her for the Regional Finals in April, and in the Synchronised Competition Erin Williams and Halle Unsworth scored 9.9 for their synchronisation and winning the Under 13 NDP4 section.

Other Gold medal winners were Zoe Cripwell in the Under 11 NDP 1 group, Lawrence Johnson in the Under 11 NDP2 group, Tomos Rees in the Under 13 NDP3 group, Robin Skailes in the 13+ NDP 3 group and Jessica Maylin in the Under 13 Regional 3 group.

The team gold was won by the club’s newest members in the Under 11 Regional 1 Section. Maggie Fodeninglis won the Silver medal, Amelie Welsby came fourth, Petra Johnson came seventh and Sophie Harman-Kay came eighth.

The other synchronised winners were Jessica Maylin and Madeleine Cameron in the Under 13 Reg 3 section.

Silver medals were won by Halle Unsworth in the Under 13 NDP 4, Amelia Houghton-Snell in the Under 11 NDP 1 and Alfred Green in the Under 11 Reg 1 sections.

Erin Williams picked up a Bronze medal in the 13+ NDP 4 as did Madeleine Cameron in the Under 13 Reg 3 groups.

The set of results are very encouraging for the club, especially considering that there were five members who were competing in their first competition.

Several members now have a good chance in the February Grading Competition to go forward to the qualifiers next month and a chance to represent Wales in the Regional Finals.
