The East Gwent fixture list had brought both Monmouth Town Under 11s teams against each other last weekend, Monmouth Town Meerkats sponsored by Paws pet shop and Monmouth Town Kingfishers sponsored by The Elms Veterinary Surgery.

The game had all the intensity of a derby fixture with both teams giving no quarter, but intensity did not distract from the quality of the play on view as all of the players put in a great shift.

New boy Alfie Robinson was man of the match for the Kingfishers team, and both Hayden Morris and Gabe Unsworth shared the honours for the Meerkats.

Once the dust had settled, the whole squad enjoyed their Christmas party at Monmouth School on Sunday afternoon.
