David Teague hit 93 and took two wickets in Chepstow Cricket Club's 18-run win over Penarth last Saturday (31st May) in the Thomas, Carroll Glamorgan and Monmouthshire League. The opener's knock came off 105 balls and featured 12 boundaries. Malith Madurasinghe scored 14, Jamie Rayner 11 and Jason Dobbie 42 off 52 balls. Chepstow were eventually bowled out for 206 in 49 overs with Ryan Sylvester (3-22), Jamie Hitchen (3-38), Tom Sidford (2-50) and Mark Thomas (2-27) sharing the wickets. Paul Swingwood was the pick of the Chepstow bowlers, taking 4-31 as Penarth were dismissed for 188 in 48.1 overs. Tudor Morgan-Huggett took 2-37, Jon Roberts 1-44 and Teague chipped in – bowling only seven balls and finishing with figures of 2-4. Chepstow's good form continued with a six-wicket home win over Crumlin in the second round of the Welsh Cricket Cup on Sunday (1st June). David Monk took 4-23 and Swingwood 3-28 as the visitors were bowled out for just 90 in 24.4 overs. Tudor Morgan-Huggett took 2-24 and Justin Thornhill 1-1 in a solid Chepstow bowling performance. Gareth Ansell top-scored with 31 as the home side chased down their target for the loss of four wickets. James Bostock hit 18 not out and Ben Jones scored 13 in the run chase.
