LEADERS Sudbrook improved their goal difference by another 12 as they thrashed Thornwell Red & White 13-1

And as co-manager Daryl Cann expla-ined, the match was in doubt after heavy rain.

"Our centre circle always floods but it was nothing a pitchfork and brush couldn't solve," Cann said.

"We started strongly again with Richard Lund scoring twice in the first 15 minutes.

"Some great saves by Thornwell's keeper kept them in the match, they got one back and, although we continued to attack, we led 2-1 at half time.

"The second half was a completely different story. We completely dominated and Zak Hitchens made it 3-1, pouncing on a loose ball in their six yard box after yet another good save from their keeper.

"Rob Thorn then scored a hat-trick. Keenan Perrett made it 7-1 and Lund completed his hat-trick.

"Mark O'Hara scored a 25-yard screamer, Oli Mottram made it 9-1 and after Thorn was brought down, Mike Price converted the penalty.

"Perrett bagged his second, and Tom Stuart scored the 13th with a tap in – Sudbrook's 106th goal in all competitions this season."

The much-anticipated clash between Underwood A and Severn Tunnel A also fell to the weather but Tintern Abbey's match went ahead, the hosts beating visitors Caldicot Castle A 10-1.

Also in Division 1, Chepstow Athletic lost 5-2 at home to Chepstow Town A.
