TWO goals from leading scorer Chris Hooper kept Severn Bridge in pole position in Division 2 at the expense of Caldicot Town.
As Underwood B were without a game, Bridge now have the upper hand – four points ahead with both having played 13 games and just seven to go.
Chepstow Town B kept the pressure on the leaders with a 6-1 home victory over Sudbrook CC B.
Town, whose goals came from Nick Nesbitt (2), Terry Powell (2), Dean Barnett and Matthew Pinchard, occupy third place on 30 points although they have an inferior goal difference to Underwood and have only five games left.
Mathern FC B enjoyed a comfortable 4-2 win over an experienced but understrength Caldicot Castle B who started with only 10 men.
Sammy Davies celebrated the birth of his son Charlie with two goals and Ryan Guscott added a superb free kick and Tom Reed headed the fourth with Castle's goals coming from an own goal and a breakaway.
Finally, Ports-kewett & Sudbrook won 8-0 at Severn Tunnel C while Severn Bridge B team's match against Tintern Abbey B was postponed.
