Monmouth Town Football Club is delighted to announce the launch of its first-ever senior women’s team ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The announcement forms part of the club’s celebrations marking 150 years of football in the town next season, representing another historic milestone for Monmouth Town FC.
Monmouth Town FC Women will compete in the South Wales Women’s and Girls League (SWWGL) from next season.
The club is now opening recruitment for both experienced and developing players to become part of an exciting new chapter for football in Monmouth.
The formation of the team follows a successful season for the club’s Under-17 girls’ side and represents a key step in Monmouth Town FC’s ambition to continue growing and developing all areas of the game.
“This is a special moment for the club,” said Coach Ben Gouldingay.
“We’ve got a hugely talented group of younger players ready to make the step into women’s football, and we want to surround them with the experience and quality that will help them thrive.
“Launching the first women’s team at Monmouth Town is something I’m incredibly proud of, and it builds on the fantastic work that Nina Al Temimi and Andrew Lewis have done in developing the girls’ section. I can’t wait to see what this group can achieve together.”
