Despite the recent floods forcing crews off the River Wye for weeks on end, an armada headed over the Severn Bridge on 14th March to the London 2012 Olympic lake and the 500-boat Oarsport Junior Sculling Head.
Four Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls' crews made the trip, with their women's J18 A quad placing a highly creditable fifth out of 13 in 14.08, and their WJ15 A boat eighth out of 60 in 14.47.
Monmouth Comprehensive School's WJ17 A quad, with GB U16 singles champion Emily Richards on board, were seventh out of 19 in their class in 14.37, plus 36th out of 60 in 16.14 in WJ15, and 22nd out of 55 in 14.27 in J15.
