ROGUERUN'S off-road night race at Beechenhurst Lodge in the Forest of Dean saw 70 runners take on the challenge of racing on Saturday 13th December.

Competitors faced mud, hills, streams, a 30 metre tunnel, and a giant wooden chair to run past.

The weather was still and settled so competitors only had to battle with the testing terrain and natural obstacles.

Spectators and marshals stood at "The Chair", a giant wooden sculpture, to watch a sea of bobbing head-torches at the start and half way point of this two lap course.

On finishing runners were rewarded with free tea and flapjacks back at Beechenhurst.

The varied course had plenty of interest throughout and was extremely well marked with reflective arrows and tape, making it impossible to get lost.

The National Diving and Activity Centre kindly sponsored the event by providing a head-torch to the first man and woman and a spot prize of two free places for their zip-wire activity. Wine and chocolate reindeers were given to the other prize winners.
