FOR the second year running, Chepstow Harriers are running the Wentwood Woodlark race on Sunday 6th September. This challenging off-road race has a very varied and interesting course which at 8 miles long takes in Gray Hill and Wentwood. It is hilly, muddy and scenic with superb views.
The race starts at Earlswood Village Hall at 11am, and entry costs £10. Runners can enter online through Chepstow Harriers’ website www.chepstowharriers.org.uk or they can enter on the day.
Last year, World Triathlete Champion Chrissie Wellington took part in the race, taking the first lady prize. There will be prizes for the first three men and women, and first in each age category. The male and female first placed winners also receive a hand-crafted wooden woodlark trophy. The race is part of the East Wales trail championships so there will be gold, silver and bronze medals to be won.
