MONMOUTH Rugby Club have already raised over £1,000 in their floodlight appeal.

Last month, club chairman Lloyd Davies announced that the club have secured over £60,000 for eight new floodlight columns on Chippenham Playing Fields.

The club are now hoping to raise a further £10,000 to ensure that the pitches are ready for additional use. Since the appeal starting, £1,350 has already been collected.

“If every member and player contributes a minimum of £20, we would immediately achieve our target fundraising of £10,000,” Mr Davies said.

Donations can be made via the club website www.monmouthrfc.com and fundraising forms are also available behind the bar at the clubhouse.
