MONMOUTH RFC have retained Logan Woskett as their 1st XV captain for the 2025/26 season, reports Gareth Roberts.

The 21-year-old will lead his hometown club into their 152nd season as they look to better their fifth position in Division 1 East, starting with a trip to Caerleon to face Newport HSOB on Saturday (September 6, KO 2.30pm).

Despite a change of coaching staff, the club are delighted to have retained all 1st XV players, which is most evident in the announcement of Logan's assistants for the season.

Utility back Harry Whelan will be joined by Woskett's second row partner, Shaun Hobbs as vice captains as new coach Dai Rees looks to beef up the leadership group.

All three have proved to be consistent performers, barely missing a game between them over the last two seasons.

Monmouth's first home game will be on Saturday, September 20 against Blaina (KO 2.30pm).
